Thomas H. White, is the President and founder of Daedalus ®, Incorporated, which was established in 1989. He has been at the forefront of Industrial, Product and Transportation design / development for more than 30 years.
Before starting Dædalus, Mr. White developed his interest in design and processes by gaining knowledge in the Aerospace and Industrial fields. He held positions of ever increasing responsibilities and managed design teams at LTV Aerospace, Bell Helicopter and Boeing.
The significance of Mr. White's work is underscored by three main
categories. Twenty two (22) US Patents have been awarded
for his work in plastics, seating, industrial and aerospace
products. The practices and standards for commercial
aircraft passenger / flight crew seating and flight deck design
configurations were conceived, designed and developed by Mr.
White. Dædalus ®
and Mr. White's work conceiving
and designing the Boeing 777 Flight Deck is the only aerospace
project to ever receive an IDSA / IDEA Award.
This leader is an Industrial Design graduate of Auburn University, Alabama. Mr. White has been sought after to lecture at universities, colleges and professional associations. He is the author of numerous published articles relating to human factors and design.
He is a member of the Human factors and Ergonomics Society, Society of Plastics Engineers and Society of Automotive Engineers.
Mr. White's interest in the promotion of design excellence lead him to co-founder the Northwest Chapter of the Industrial Designers' Society of America, and become a member of the Advisory Committee on Industrial Design at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
