"Dædalus®, Inc. was retained to design and
engineer the international trade-show booth for THE NEW PIPER
AIRCRAFT COMPANY of Vero Beach, Florida. The theme of the
booth is "GENERAL AVIATION SMALL TOWN AIRPORT".
The design was to look like a small airport similar to the
ones Piper's customers fly into. The booth is 50' X 70' with
a carpet of gray representing the tarmac (runway) with green
grass around it. The terminal building has an observation
deck with a lighted tower and beacon light. Under the deck
are customer conference rooms and small displays. On display
are the "First" Piper Cub aircraft as well as the
latest "Meridian" aircraft to show history and progress.
For ease of demonstration, a "Walk-Up Cockpit Simulator"
was design to show large numbers of people the new "Digital
displays and controls. A small "Pilot Shop" for
Piper product (jacket, hat, flight books, etc,) is locate
on one corner of the booth. The booth has travelled all over
the USA and other countries and is under constant use."
